Tale attività trova le sue ragioni di essere nella consapevolezza che lo studio e il successo scolastico sono gli obiettivi richiesti dalla Scuola, da una parte, e auspicati dalle famiglie, dall’altra. Da ciò scaturisce la necessità di aiutare il ragazzo a superare le difficoltà inerenti allo studio e a ottimizzare il tempo a disposizione anche predisponendo interventi personalizzati mediante l'impegno di Educatori che si dedicheranno più esclusivamente ad attività di recupero. Sono questi gli interventi che caratterizzano il Convitto “M. Di Sangro”, interventi mirati a migliorare il rendimento scolastico attraverso i gruppi-studio specifici per area (area scientifica, area linguistica, area umanistica e area tecnica).

L'attività di studio dei convittori, infatti, è articolata in più fasi:

- giornalmente, dalle 15.00 alle 17.00, i convittori, suddivisi per anno, svolgono, nelle rispettive aule, i compiti scolastici sotto la guida degli istitutori designati.

- in tale fascia oraria, i convittori con particolari necessità in una particolare materia, possono essere affidati, di volta in volta, alla guida dell' Istitutore referente dell’area specifica.

- i convittori, in orario diverso, anche serale, possono, previa prenotazione, usufruire di attività di recupero, su particolari materie, da parte degli Istitutori competenti.
